📍Impact event in Chisinau: Effective services for a society without violence
On March 27, 2026, AO “Artemida”, as organizer, in strategic partnership with the National Probation Inspectorate – Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, the State University of Moldova and AO Gender-Centru, held a round table with the title “Services for abusers: realities and perspectives”.
The event was organized with the support of Sweden 🇸🇪 and coordinated with ANPCV Republic of Moldova National Agency for Prevention and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, bringing together representatives of public institutions, civil society and academia.
📌The purpose of the event was to analyze the services intended for domestic abusers, with an emphasis on identifying solutions to improve interventions. The discussions focused on reducing violent behaviors and reducing the risk of recidivism, contributing to increasing the safety of victims.
📊During the event, Ms. Valentina BODRUG-LUNGU, President of the NGO “Gender-Centru”, presented the results of the analysis report, which generated a constructive dialogue on the need to improve the methodological framework and strengthen cooperation between state institutions and civil society organizations.
💬Mr. Simion SÎRBU highlighted the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and the development of specialized interventions, aimed at contributing to changing aggressive behaviors and preventing recidivism, for the benefit of the safety of victims.
An important aspect highlighted during the discussions was the need to align work programs with aggressors with European Union standards, in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s accession process to the EU. In this regard, the participants highlighted the importance of adapting methodologies, strengthening the capacities of specialists and developing integrated services, in line with good European practices.
🗞️The event ended with the formulation of priority directions of action for the coming period, including the review and adjustment of existing programs, the expansion of inter-institutional cooperation and the development of effective mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating interventions.
🟠AO “Artemida” reaffirms its role at the regional and national levels in preventing and combating gender-based violence, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in generating sustainable changes.
