48 people, members of the Multidisciplinary Teams from Straseni and Falesti, received training in the psycho-social and legislative field in terms of preventing and combating domestic violence, where they learned how to react jointly to cases of domestic violence, in the result of a mentoring program carried out by #UNFPA in partnership with the NGO Artemida .
Ciocan Inga, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance Straseni: “Violence is one of the great complex problems of the contemporary world, being closely linked to the way people think and behave, determined by a multitude of forces within the family or community to which we belong. In recent years, the term violence has been frequently used in publications, reports, statistics, academic materials, and media reports. Domestic violence is often associated not only with physical violence, but also with other forms of violence, such as psychological, economic, or sexual violence. Violence involves the use of power of any kind to harm the physical, mental or moral integrity of a person or community. In this context, within a mentoring program, the multidisciplinary teams of specialists from Straseni district, benefited from training in the psycho-social and legal field regarding the preparation and combating of domestic violence, within the Mentoring Program developed by UNFPA, UN WOMEN MOLDOVA in partnership with NGO ARTEMIDA and the General Directorate of Social Assistance Straseni.
The trainings conducted during October-December 2021 led to the consolidation of the knowledge of social workers in the context of prevention and intervention of specialists in cases of domestic violence, providing support in improving the mechanism of intersectoral collaboration in cases of assistance to family victims, roles and the responsibilities of each social actor, counseling and psychological portrayal of the victim of domestic violence, eliminating prejudices and stereotypes about the phenomenon of domestic violence by informing, raising awareness and encouraging reporting of cases of violence, facilitating access to legal assistance for victims of domestic violence. state but also the legal provisions for the protection of the employee in the social field by family aggressors. The project examined the instructions for intervention in cases of domestic violence: identification and documentation of cases of domestic violence, assessment of the risks of committing and repeating acts of violence, risk assessment sheet for the life and physical integrity of victims, reporting cases of domestic violence – notification / reporting form of domestic violence cases, referral of victims of domestic violence to specialized social services, to occupational services, state-guaranteed legal aid and collection, reporting of data. The representatives of the Multidisciplinary Teams of specialists from Straseni sincerely thank AO ARTEMIDA and UNFPA, A WOMEN MOLDOVA for selection and participation in this project, for the advice and assistance provided by the trainers in the mentoring program and good organization and coordination of the project. We believe that such partnerships between non-governmental organizations and public service providers lead to beautiful results in the development and implementation of social projects !!
The mentoring program is carried out within the regional program “Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence”, funded by the European Union in the Republic of Moldova and implemented by UN Women Moldova and #UNFPA.
