On 27.11.2019 and 28.11.2019, the Assistance and Counseling Center for victims of domestic violence “Ariadna” and the Assistance and Counseling Center for family aggressors from the city. Drochia in partnership with UN Women Moldova organized two training seminars with the theme “The role of law enforcement agencies and service providers in solving cases of violence against women and domestic violence”. 75 representatives of the Police Inspectorate (criminal prosecution officers and sector police officers) and Probation Offices from the districts: Drochia, Edineț, Dondușeni, Rîșcani and Balti municipality participated in these seminars.
The training seminars are part of the project “Strengthening good response practices of police and service providers to the phenomenon of domestic violence”, held by UN Women Moldova within the framework of the “16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE” IN THE MOLDOVA REPUBLIC.
The training course was aimed at:
- To familiarize specialists (criminal prosecution officers, sector police officers, probation counselors and representatives of specialized services assisting victims of gender-based violence and domestic violence, as well as specialists working with family offenders) with the national legislative framework and international standards to contribute to a more efficient response to domestic violence cases.
- To develop a better understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence, the formation of a common vision and the development of specialist skills (criminal prosecution officers, sector police officers, probation counselors and representatives of specialized services assisting victims of gender-based violence and violence in family, but also specialists working with family aggressors) to effectively solve cases of domestic violence.
