Iulia, 38, Mariopol, Ukraine
Iulia and her daughter now live in Moldova.
“During the meeting, she told us with tears in her eyes what she and her family went through,” the mobile team member tells us.
💬” If Russia had not attacked Ukraine, he would have lived in Mariopol with his loved ones, and his son, who was to be born, would be alive now. Russia took everything that was most valuable to him,” says Iulia.
She remembers with horror those moments when the world was divided into “until” and “after”. He was in the Perinatal Center in Mariopol when he found out that the war had started, then they were evacuated because there was no light. Another perinatal center where he was after the evacuation was bombed a few days later. Here Iulia lost her child. She suffered a lot, but she and her husband decided that she had to leave Ukraine.
Iulia and her daughter arrived in Moldova, passing through many obstacles. Completely exhausted, they decided not to go further, but to stay here, in Moldova, and they are not sorry, because they received the support they needed, and good people helped them overcome difficult situations.
💬”I am grateful to your mobile team, the UNFPA Moldova organization, for the support and assistance you offer us all”
🟠We are convinced that only together through consolidated joint efforts, we will face the challenges.
