🌟Today, we invite you to get to know the Roma Women’s Platform “Romni” from Moldova – A team that inspires through work, perseverance and civic commitment.
The Roma Women’s Platform “ROMNI” is a non-profit organization founded in 2016, whose strategic objective is to support the Roma community in Moldova, helping it to have access to state-guaranteed services, campaigning and advocating for the protection of its rights and fighting against Roma discrimination. While many of the organization’s activities focus on assisting women👩🦳, youth🧑🦰 and children🧒, its advocacy campaigns support the rights of all Roma living in Moldova.
📌Since 2022, ROMNI has played a key role in mapping and identifying the needs of refugee and local Roma, providing humanitarian aid, resolving protection cases, most of which are related to discriminatory and racist attitudes.
🫂 In 2023 and 2024, ROMNI’s main activity was also focused on the refugee crisis, with an emphasis on the protection and documentation of Roma refugees through voluntary work and several funded projects, including partnerships and projects funded by UN Women.
Starting with 2024 and until today, ROMNI started implementing projects on gender-based violence and reproductive rights, including partnerships and initiatives funded by UN Women, UNHCR and Artemida.
