Cristina’s Story

22/04/2025
Povestea Cristinei

📌Over the past 3 years, Moldova has become a safe haven for thousands of people who were forced to leave Ukraine due to the conflict.
Each of these people has a unique story, full of courage, hope and the desire to rebuild their lives.
💬”Refugees left behind homes, memories and an ordinary life, finding temporary or even permanent shelter in Moldova. Local communities have mobilized to provide support🫂, food🥗, shelter🏠 and emotional support”
“From volunteers, humanitarian organizations and institutions, everyone has contributed to creating a safe and welcoming environment. Solidarity and empathy are the values that unite us in these difficult times.
Each refugee has a life story, a dream, a desire to move forward. It is our responsibility to be with them and offer them the support they need” says Tatiana, a psychologist within the Mobile Team.
“Today we want to share with you the story of a brave woman👱‍♀️ Cristina, who was forced to leave her country 2 years ago to save her life and start a new life in Moldova. With a heart full of hope and a desire to build a better future for her family, she faced challenges, but also moments of joy and gratitude. Despite the hardships, she found a second home here, a community that supports and inspires her every day,” says Tatiana after the individual session with Cristina.
💭Her story reminds us how important it is to be in solidarity and support those in need, regardless of their origins. Every refugee has a story, a desire to live in peace and dignity.
🟠We are grateful to UNFPA Moldova partners for the opportunity to help and make a difference in the lives of those around us!
