The prevention and combating of violence against women and the provision of specialized services for the protection of victims of family violence are the basic priorities of A.O “Artemida”.On 08.12.2023, within the National Campaign “16 days of activism against gender-based violence” A.O “Artemida” with the contribution of the National Coalition “Life without violence” and the support of development partners: the Embassy of Sweden in Chisinau, the Foundation OAK through the ARC Foundation from Romania and UNFPA organized the Forum with the generic name “LIFE WITHOUT VIOLENCE”During this event, through public discussions, participants were encouraged to strengthen their joint efforts to prevent and combat violence. During the debates, emphasis was placed on the mechanisms available at the local level and their effectiveness to ensure the implementation of the legal anti-violence framework.💬Present at the event, Mrs. Marina Morozova – Deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova referred to the actions carried out by the authorities on the dimension of preventing and combating violence against women, namely the creation of the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Violence in the Family; the launch of the Police Family Justice Centre, a unique service for victims of domestic violence and victims of sexual violence; approval of the National Program on the prevention and combating of violence against women and family violence for the years 2023-2027.💬 In her speech, Mrs. Viorica Șimbalari, general director of the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Family Violence mentioned the fact that only together with state institutions, non-governmental organizations, civil society and of course development partners, through collaboration we will reach the implementation of public policies to prevent and combat violence against women and family violence in accordance with the provisions of the Istanbul Convention.🧡 The event was attended by representatives of state authorities, civil society organizations, the private sector and the international community.
