No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

01/09/2025
Niciun act de bunătate, oricât de mic, nu este vreodată irosit.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
Liliana – the psychologist of the 🚍Women and Girls Safe Space mobile team. Women and Girls Safe Space told us a story from the territory about a family of refugees who recently arrived in our country. This family consists of four people: 🧔‍♂️a father, 👱‍♀️a mother and 👦👧two children.
– 💬In Ukraine, they lived in a big city, did what they loved – they organized their own business, built a house, lived quietly, happily and could not imagine that the moment would come when all this would end and war would come to their land… From the very beginning of the war, they were under occupation, Irina’s husband had his first heart attack, then a second, and then a stroke. He was bedridden, so even the thought of leaving the country was out of the question. A year has passed since the beginning of the war, during which this family endured many hardships: her husband’s illness, constant sirens and flying missiles, explosions, nights in the basement of the house, cold winter, insufficient medical care, loss of business, and finally, during one of the missile attacks, they became homeless. Moving in with friends, they began to think about leaving the country, but Irina could not imagine how she could do this with an immobilized husband and two children. Another year and a half passed, long and painful, with the hope that the war would soon end. During this time, Irina managed to find a way to move her husband and children across the border, and so they ended up in Moldova, in one of our towns.
– 💬At our first meeting, Irina came to me to receive first psychological help, for an individual consultation, to talk about her experiences and fears. The woman said that in the first weeks of their stay in Moldova they applied for temporary protection, and after receiving the documents, her husband began to receive qualified medical care from Moldovan doctors, for which she was very grateful. During our conversation, I offered Irina the help of colleagues from the Cash service, where she received qualified psychological help, social support and an individual approach, which she gladly agreed to.
– 💬How the fate of this family will develop, we will observe during our meetings and I sincerely hope that the results of our joint work will not be in vain.
Refugees who came to Moldova really need help, people who listen to stories without judgment, who provide qualified assistance, who provide information about where they can get help if they are faced with the problem of gender and domestic violence.
– 💭For three years we have been working with beneficiaries supported by the management team of the Artemida Public Association and the UNFPA Moldova organization, who believe in us, support and guide us. Together with our colleagues at AO Artemida, we do our best every day to ensure that our support and assistance are professional, of high quality and for the benefit of our beneficiaries.
🟠We are convinced that only together, through joint, consolidated efforts, can we face the challenges.
