💙💛 During May 25-26, 2023, our colleague Ina Gradinaru – deputy director within A.O “Artemida” together with Veronica Teleuca – executive director of the National Coalition “Life without violence” and Nina Lozinschi – representative of the platform for Gender Equality, attended an EU Presidency conference in Vilnius, hosted by the Parliament of Lithuania and organized by the Center for the Promotion of Equality, the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and the Swedish Embassy in Vilnius, with support from the EU’s Directorate General for Neighborhood and Negotiations of Extension and the Swedish Institute.
💙💛In the pre-conference hosted by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), civil society representatives had a space to exchange experiences, perspectives from the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries regarding different instruments regarding gender equality, challenges, lessons learned and experiences of adapting and adopting EIGE tools.
💙💛At the main conference held in the Parliament of Lithuania on May 26, women’s experiences and lessons learned in the context of war and social unrest were addressed, with an emphasis on the countries of the Eastern Partnership as well as the situation in the EU, tools for the prevention and prosecution of violence against women .
💙💛After the conference, our colleagues had a meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Lithuania, with His Excellency, Mr. Ambassador E. Druc and his team, during which they discussed challenges, good practices, opportunities and possibilities for cooperation in the field of gender equality.
