The Regional Forum “Coordinated response regarding the provision of specialized services for people affected by gender-based violence and family violence” was the event that brought together over 60 participants from different localities, different fields but with one common objective: preventing and combating violence in gender and domestic violence. The forum was held on May 4, 2023 in the city of Drochia, where representatives of the APL, representatives of state institutions and member organizations of the National Coalition “Life without Violence” participated. During the Forum, issues related to:
1. The role of social services and law enforcement agencies in preventing and combating gender-based violence and family violence.
2. The role of assistance and counseling services for victims of family violence and family aggressors, the services of mobile teams and the role of the victors in supporting women and girls affected by gender-based violence and family violence.
3. Launch of the Methodological Guide for specialists (psychologists) who work within the specialized assistance and counseling services for victims of gender-based violence and family violence developed by A.O. “Artemida” in partnership with A.O. “Institute for Family and Social Initiatives” within the Institutional Grant of A.O. “Artemida” financed by the Embassy of Sweden in Moldova and with the support of psychologists from the National Coalition “Life without Violence in the Family”, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family. The program provides a methodological framework for psychologists who provide psychological counseling services to people affected by violence. The purpose of the program is to increase the quality of psychological counseling services and possibly contribute to the efficiency of the response of specialized services or psychological assistance in situations of family violence.
4. Launch of the Toolkit for working with family aggressors. The toolkit includes training materials for specialists working with family abusers, complementing the training manual for specialists working with family abusers. We thank all the participants of the event for their dedication, participation and exchange of experiences.
