🗣️Today we want to share with you a testimony that reminds us why the work of our Mobile Teams 🚍 – Safe Space for Women and Girls. Women and Girls Safe Space, of the Artemida Public Association supported by UNFPA Moldova, is so vital.
👱♀️Marina, a refugee from Ukraine, found support in Moldova that she never expected. Her experience shows how our teams help build trust in the most vulnerable communities.
💬 At one of the meetings, Marina told us: “The very first time I took refuge in Moldova, I was invited to an information session about violence, in a Safe Space 🏠, a warm place, in a cold❄️ and unsafe period. I listened to what was said about the forms of violence and realized that what I experienced was not normal. I finally felt safe to speak🗣️. I felt that you were here for me, not to judge me. At first, I was afraid to open up, but over time, with the support I received, I regained my self-confidence. Now, when the Mobile Team comes to us, we welcome each other with hugs 🫂” proudly recalls Tatiana – psychologist within the Mobile Team 🚍 – Safe Space for Women and Girls. Women and Girls Safe Space
Our mobile teams continue to visit localities, providing essential services:
• Personalized Psychosocial Counseling to manage trauma and uncertainty.
• Information sessions on the prevention of gender-based violence and the rights of refugees.
• Connection to crucial Protection Services for women facing violence.
This simple gesture, a hug 🫂, is the symbol of the solidarity and trust that we manage to build together.
