The Mobile Teams were created with the support of UNFPA Moldova in response to the refugee crisis in 2022 and since then have been providing qualified services to refugees and host families every day. 💬”In a world marked by conflicts and migration, we, psychologists, have an important role in supporting refugees and host communities. As a psychologist, my role is to be there when needed and to pay attention and support to those in difficulty,” the psychologist of the mobile team tells us.
🗣Thus, practically every day of activity, I spend individual counseling and emotional support sessions. During the sessions, I listen to refugees and people in difficulty, encouraging them to talk about their needs and concerns in order to establish a sense of safety and calm. 👥
💬At the same time, I consider that a very important stage of my activity is information. An uninformed person means a vulnerable person. That is why I am actively involved in conducting information and awareness sessions that focus on topics such as gender-based violence, gender equality, information about specialized services that provide assistance in this area, etc.
👩‍💻By working with refugees, I not only provide direct assistance, but also contribute to their integration into the host community. By promoting dialogue and mutual understanding, I try to help reduce prejudices and stereotypes, facilitating social cohesion.
💬What motivates me even more is the fact that in this activity I not only have the opportunity to contribute to their recovery and integration, but I also enrich my own professional and personal experience. I feel important when I know that I can contribute to supporting people who are going through difficult times in their lives. I believe that a changed destiny means a changed world!
