The story of Taisia, a refugee woman from Ukraine, remains a symbol of resistance and adaptation in the face of a ruthless war. Although at an advanced age, when she needed peace the most, life had other plans for her 💔.
She lost everything: her husband died under the rubble of their house, and her children fled the war to other countries. She arrived in Moldova with acquaintances, and adapting far from her birthplace was extremely difficult, affecting her health. However, Taisia is a fighter 💪.
After meeting with the Women and Girls Safe Space Mobile Team, she was helped to settle in the refugee center, where she has been living for two years with other refugees 🏠. Here she has benefited from psychosocial support and actively participates in information sessions on preventing and combating GBV 🛡️.
She is always present at the information sessions, and in her free time she encourages other women not to lose hope, lovingly taking care of the children in the center 🧸. However, her soul is constantly waiting for the day when she will be reunited with her own children 🙏.
