Today we want to share with you the story of Alina, a young refugee whose strength and courage inspire us. “She is a living testimony of the impact that support and correct information have in difficult times,” tells us Tatiana, a psychologist within the Mobile Team.
The UNFPA Moldova Safe Space for Women and Girls mobile team had the privilege of meeting Alina as part of our information and psychological support activities. Like many other refugee women and girls, Alina fled the conflict, leaving behind everything that was familiar to her. Arriving in a new place, with uncertainties and fears, she found in our team not only essential information about her rights and available services, but also vital psychological support.
Alina told us that the information we provide about gender-based violence, discrimination and stereotypes is not just theory, but a protective shield. And that psychological support is the anchor that helps you navigate through the darkest waters – Tatiana tells us.
Alina’s story emphasizes the necessity and importance of our presence in communities. Every interaction, every information session and every moment of psychological support contributes to building a safer and brighter future for those in difficulty.
We are grateful that we can be with Alina and other courageous women and girls. Together, we continue to build Safe Space for Women and Girls – a place where safety, respect and support are guaranteed.
🟠We are convinced that only together, through joint, consolidated efforts, can we face the challenges.
