💛 We all have a reserve of strength within us that is activated when life puts us to the test.
The beginning of 2026 brought new challenges, but also new encounters that mark us. In the first week of work, I met Anna, a young mother from Ukraine 🇺🇦. She fled the war at the end of last year, together with her three young children, but she also fled another “war” – the one at home … Liliana, Psychologist within the Women and Girls Safe Space Mobile Team told us. 💬Anna told us about years of humiliation, fear and aggression from her husband, about how she hoped the war would bring unity, but instead it brought even more pain 💔. With eyes full of tears, she spoke to us about the nights with panic attacks, about insecurity and about the struggle to protect her children 👩👧👦.
She came to us guided by other refugees, who simply told her: “Come with us to the UNFPA mobile team. They will listen to you and help you.” 🫂
Although scared and exhausted, Anna took this step. She immediately received first psychological aid, managing to calm down a bit. Moreover, we quickly connected her with colleagues from the Case Management team for assistance, and now she benefits from individual counseling. 🤝
For us, emphasizes Liliana, every meeting counts. We see how much the beneficiaries are waiting for these moments, how much they believe in us and give us their trust 🤍.
We are a big team, supported by AO Artemida and UNFPA Moldova, and we stand by the women and girls who have gone through violence, offering them support, safety and hope 🛡️.
